The Original Pancake House Located on a 1.0-acre out lot site adjacent to the Rave Move Theater in West Chester - Union Centre off of Union Centre Boulevard in the Streets of West Chester. This is the second Original Pancake House owned by Bob Dearth [the other location is on Montgomery Road in Montgomery, Ohio]. The 4,468 SF restaurant is wood frame construction. The exterior is brick, stone, and EIFS with tall, shingled mansard and gable roofs and colorful yellow and white awnings to great a sense of presence for the establishment. Catering to a breakfast and brunch crowd, the restaurant has a seating capacity of about 135, which helps to ease the strain placed on his other location and introduce The Original Pancake House to a new area of Cincinnati. Providing a large, open and comfortable space for dining with wood trim and tile floors, the restaurant also features a special hand painted coved ceiling and presentation kitchen for patrons to observe while they are there. There is a section that is separated off with partial height walls with windows (to maintain the open feeling) for private or group breakfasts or luncheons. Functionally, the kitchen uses a seamless epoxy floor system and fiberglass reinforced plastic panels to maintain an easily cleanable and sanitary work environment. Ceramic tile is dominant in the front presentation area of the kitchen. There are a food cooler, utility and storage spaces, as well as an office and break room, in addition to food prep, cook line, and dishwashing in the "back" areas of the restaurant. The project was constructed with Venture One Construction and completed early in 2005.
